The most famous Barbarians game of all was, of course, the 1973 game against the touring All Blacks.
THAT try by Gareth Edwards was just the beginning of a match of stunning quality, the Baa-Baas stunning their visitors and easing to an 11-23 win. It is the only time that the All Blacks have fallen to the invitational side.
The Barbarians traditions go back a long way - including these regular fixtures:
The Final Challenge - played as the final game of a UK tour by Aus, NZ or SA
Easter Saturday fixture against Cardiff RFC / Cardiff Blues.
Mobbs Memorial match - in memory of Edgar Mobbs who died in World War I

- Barbarians FC are an elite team, they have no ground or clubhouse and you could only play for them if invited. William Percy Carpmael founded the BaaBaas team - he wanted to create a team where the winning was not everything - but style overpowered the scoreline. The dream became reality on December 27th 1890 at Friary Field in Hartlepool. There, all things great about the game the flair, spirit and passion make Baa-baas rugby a joy to watch.
